We will cut up the canvas into thirds,
each member will choose
3 different sections.
We will sew the canvas into projects!

So inspiring! I wondered since the end result would be bags, if you washed the canvas before priming and did you use acrylic gesso?
ReplyDeleteDo not pre-wash the canvas, it will make it soft and wimpy. No, we did not prime the canvas with gesso. You can purchase primed canvas from Dick Blick online. I have used primed and also unprimed canvas and they both work equally well. We did heat set the paints when the canvas was dry.

I was thinking about waxing the canvas afterward since mine will be used as a shopping bag. I thought it might keep it cleaner and last longer that way. Aurora
