Wedding Quilt

We can finally do the BIG reveal...

This is a wedding quilt

for one of our own...

This has been top secret since April...

Now that Rachelle's had her wedding,

we can tell you all about it!

Rachelle has been part of our quilting group since she was a girl,  and now she is married.  We just had to celebrate this event with a wedding quilt for her and her husband.

This quilt reflects Rachelle's love of color!

This quilt has been stitched with love

by everyone in our group.

Congratulations Rachelle and Tyler

from the Harlan Valley Quilters

Comfort Quilt......Frayed Edge Hearts 2

Day 2

Today we will continue working on the

Sweet Treasures My Love

Frayed Edge Heart Quilt

This is where we left off last month...

16 frayed edge heart blocks completed.

Today we sewed on all of the

corner triangles

and pieced the blocks together.

Lani is preparing the

dark blue inner border.

Claudette chose this large print floral

for the final border treatment.

Here is the quilt sandwich basted and

ready to go under the needle.

It is FUN to see an un-quilted

close up view...

Then check out what it looks like with a bit

of machine quilting on it:

I was only able to quilt for about a half

hour today, but I managed to get the

bottom row quilted.

Next week I will get it

under the needle again!

Free Motion Quilting.....Class

We spent the day learning
Free Motion Quilting Designs:

We are working from DVD Tutorials

Along with Patsy's excellent video lessons,
we trace out the design in out sketch books
to increase our muscle memory before
quilting into the fabric sandwiches.

Whimsical Vine

Patsy provides you with files of her designs
to print out directly from her website.

The Whimsical Vine is a favorite!

Light and Airy Branching Vine

Please Note:
This was quilted on a Featherweight 221

Loop D Loop Vine

By the end of the day we learned
6 new vine designs.

Now we will go home and continue
to practice and stitch these
into our quilts!
