Comfort Quilts...

It must be the first Monday of the month...

We are creating comfort quilts today!

We are making comfort quilts from

 donated fabrics

for members of our community...

Rachelle is pressing a

disappearing patch quilt top...

Ralph, the Quilting Kitty

keeps our fabrics warmed up for us!

We are also creating another

raw edge heart quilt...

The blocks are done,

we are now piecing them into rows...

The first disappearing 9 patch

quilt top is complete...

The quilters are tying it...

Tools of the Trade

Karri is piecing a back for the next quilt

to be tied...

Linda continues piecing the heart blocks...

She has the inner and outer

borders pieced...

It is amazing what you can put together

with donated fabrics...

Next month we will machine quilt

this heart baby quilt...

Ralph approves of the first

disappearing 9 patch quilt...

The quilters are hard at work

tying the second quilt...

Comfort Quilt......Frayed Edge Hearts 2

Day 2

Today we will continue working on the

Sweet Treasures My Love

Frayed Edge Heart Quilt

This is where we left off last month...

16 frayed edge heart blocks completed.

Today we sewed on all of the

corner triangles

and pieced the blocks together.

Lani is preparing the

dark blue inner border.

Claudette chose this large print floral

for the final border treatment.

Here is the quilt sandwich basted and

ready to go under the needle.

It is FUN to see an un-quilted

close up view...

Then check out what it looks like with a bit

of machine quilting on it:

I was only able to quilt for about a half

hour today, but I managed to get the

bottom row quilted.

Next week I will get it

under the needle again!

There was a lot more going on during

Quilt Retreat Week,

but I was so busy piecing my NYB

I didn't catch it all with the camera.

We are all looking forward to our

next retreat in the Spring!
